How Valuable Would Practical Self Defense and Martial Arts Skills Be if You Were On a Flight Like These Passengers?

Reports say that passengers helped subdue an unruly man who was shouting “Allah is great” on a recent continental flight to Houston. Several reports say that the man became disruptive and refused to follow rules after a female flight attendant informed him that he was not allowed to smoke on the plane.

If you were in this situation, perhaps traveling for business or with family, how much more confident would you feel knowing you had training for potentially life-threatening situations like these. This is not to say that Karate chops and Taekwondo Kicks can solve all your problems. Not at all. Instead, the type of training we offer at USA Martial Arts from our Tactical Training Division addresses these types of real life situations.

Consider if you knew:

+ How to manage fear and stress, reduce heart rate and stay calm to be able to think and make good choices
+ To know exactly what to look for and when to take action
+ To be able to properly assess the situation and make an action plan for self defense
+ To know how to place, guard and protect your family, children or loved ones
+ To know exactly how to distract, disrupt and disable a person if you had to

Practical Self Defense Skills When Needed Most
These skills are exactly what we teach in my VIPER course, Bodyguard Security and Tactical Training programs. You can improve your skills and confidence with scenario training so that, should the need arise, you have sure, ever present self defense options. They key here is having options and therefore more peace of mind.

o How to avoid freezing under stress
o Which targets to go for to quickly disarm, disrupt or disable an attacker
o The best way to distract, disorient and delay an attackers plans for violence
o Step by step ways to cause the attacker to lose consciousness and gain control over his body
o How to address weapons like guns, knives, clubs or threat of explosives

You don’t have to be Jason Bourne or a Navy SEAL to apply some street smarts and put yourself in a better position. As evidence by these Continental flight passengers who subdued this unruly passenger without significant harm or incident.

Read about how these passengers thwarted an airline bomber attempt. You do not have to be a helpless victim just awaiting a gruesome fate.

Practical Self Defense Training gives options where not having training does not. Never confuse knowledge for ability but a little knowledge is can go a long way in a crisis.

If you are interested in learning these skills used by military, law enforcement, bodyguards and other tactical operators, consider getting training. It doesn’t have to be full contact MMA at a local gym where you are afraid to get beat up or go to work the next day with a black eye. There are some good professional trainers who can teach you step-by-step and have the skills, knowledge and background to give you practical self defense tools you can use when it counts. If not with us, get it somewhere.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
